Loving on My Hometown Through Public Art

An opportunity to bring even more beauty to Petoskey

When the City of Petoskey put out a call for public art to be placed along the Little Traverse Wheelway, I knew I had to submit a concept. Local artists were asked to create art that represented the area in some way. This area is known for so many beautiful things … the water, the wildlife, the landscape. For my entry, I chose to focus on the amazing sunflowers grown at Petoskey’s beloved Bill’s Farm Market.

My daughter, Hattie submitted a concept as well! Her Fish of Michigan design was selected and features a variety of the freshwater fish that call our lakes home.

Twenty artists in total had their art selected, and now Petoskey has more beauty to enjoy along it’s Wheelway Art Walk.
